What is Rehabilitative Massage?
Rehabilitative massage includes a detailed review of the composition, characteristics, and common injuries and conditions of soft tissues, as well as an update on the science of pain and inflammation. Students will practice a wide range of basic and advanced techniques for working the myofascial system from the superficial to the deepest layers. These include techniques that utilize tissue shortening or lengthening, client movement, and assisted stretching. This course focuses primarily on the spine and trunk, with some examples of techniques for the extremities.
